Phenomenology: A way to get data on user experiences?
We always talk about different ways of delivering user experiences; however, there are very few talks about capturing the 'before' and 'after' state of the user experience itself. Phenomenology is the study of the structure of experiences and consciousness that would be as free as possible from any biases or preconceptions. Ring any bells? That's the most critical part of being a Product Manager, i.e., to listen to your users and not to your heart. This talk is about the importance of Phenomenology and how we can leverage that in Product Management to deliver the perceived value.
